This weekend getaway was transformed into a full-time residence in Easton, Maryland. With a plan to enhance and enlarge the home on the lot, the homeowners sought to offer both spouses office space, create a greater connection to the outdoors from within, and transform the home from a Tudor-style to modern contemporary. Taking full advantage of the allowable height limits, the architect chose to expand the house vertically with a tower above the original foyer, which was also replaced with a light-filled entryway. The final geometry of the house is unique from all angles but especially when viewed from the waterfront. Architect and builder were able to create the wanted space while simultaneously capture the amazing views of Talbot County. Design by McInturff Architects. Cover feature on the Winter 2020 issue of Home & Design Chesapeake Views.
